What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a normal link with a tracking code attached. If you buy something after clicking it, we may receive a small commission from the seller. The price you pay is not increased by it.
Assume any outbound product link may be one
Rather than ask you to hunt for labels, treat every outbound link to a product or service as potentially commissioned. Where a page is largely built around a commissioned recommendation, we say so on the page itself.
Our rules for ourselves
- We only recommend things we have used or researched properly
- A commission never decides a recommendation or its ranking
- We say plainly when a free option is good enough
- We remove a recommendation when it stops being the best answer, even when it pays well
Programs
We participate in affiliate programs operated by third-party retailers and software companies. Those companies set their own prices, terms and privacy practices, and we have no control over them.

So you never have to go looking for it, the disclosure appears in more than one place:
- A standing advertising disclosure sits at the top of every page on this site, above the content, before you read or click anything
- A section-level disclosure sits directly above any group of recommendations, tools or outbound links
- A paid-product disclosure sits directly above anything we sell ourselves, including pricing and checkout
- Individual commissioned links are labelled in the link text and marked rel="sponsored nofollow"
- Emails, newsletters and social posts that contain commissioned or sponsored links say so in the message itself, at the start, not only in a signature
- This full policy is linked from the site footer on every page
Our own products
Some products on this site are ours. When we sell you a workbook, toolkit or bundle, we are paid directly and we say so on the page. Those are digital downloads, not shipped goods, and buying one is never required to use the free material here.
